The fellowship aims to provide the following:
Early career support
The aim of the fellowship is to provide fellowships for young first-generation women litigators at the start of their career. The aim of the fellowship is to equip more women litigators with the necessary support systems and professional training early in their careers.
Financial support
Each selected fellow will be provided a grant of INR 3,60,000 for a period of 1 year. The amount will be disbursed on a monthly basis and the fellowship will commence in June/July 2025.
Mentorship support
The selected fellows will also have the benefit of mentorship from a network of experienced women litigators.Â

Selection Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the grant:
1. Open to women only
The fellowship is only open to women.
2. 0-2 years of experience
The fellowship is open to final year students as well as litigators with less than 2 years of experience (to be determined from the date of graduation).
3. First generation lawyers
The fellowship is only open to first generation litigators, i.e. those applicants who do not have any immediate family member(s) in the legal profession. Further, preference will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate an economic need for the fellowship.
