The National Law University Delhi (‘University’) seeks to engage two Academic Fellows for one year on a contractual basis for the Joint Masters/LL.M in Intellectual Property Law & Management Programme. The National Law University has recently launched the Joint Masters/LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and Management which is being jointly offered by the National Law University Delhi (NLUD), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM – Indian IP Office).

1) Academic Fellow (IP Law)
– LL.B./LL.M. (IPR Spl.) with preferably an undergraduate degree in science/technology and demonstrable interest in IP & Technology Law and International IP law. Â Â
– Minimum 3 years of IP litigation/IP prosecution/IP Transactional experience if the candidate has LL.B. and who is keen to explore an academic sabbatical.
ORÂ
Minimum 2 years of IP litigation/patent prosecution/IP Academic experience if the candidate has LL.M. (IPR specialisation) with at least one journal publication and who is keen to explore an academic sabbatical.
– Demonstrable interest must be shown through evidence of participation in litigation, research, drafting, including publications in the area of specialization offered.Â

2) Academic Fellow (IP Management/ Economics)
– Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or a PhD in Management/Economics with a demonstrated interest in Intellectual Property 3 years of research experience in the area of intellectual property for candidates with Masters Degree.Â
OR
1 year of research experience in the area of intellectual property for candidates with Ph.D.
– Demonstrable interest must be shown through evidence of research and publications in the area of Economics of innovation management /intellectual property management with at least 2 journal articles (Masters Degree) and 3 journal (PhD Degrees) in the area. Such research must involve empirical research using quantitative / qualitative techniques .

Remuneration and work conditions
– A consolidated Remuneration of Rs. 60,000/-per month will be paid. No additional benefits/perks will be provided.
– The offer beyond the duration of the contract may be renewed based on the performance of the candidate.Â

Job Profile
– Will facilitate as a teaching assistant for faculty involved in teaching the WIPONLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme faculty.
– Will assist in the organization and implementation of the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme.
– Any other work assigned by the programme director of the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme or by the university/centre/chair in the area of intellectual property.Â

Criteria of Selection
– STAGE – 1 (60 Marks) a. Educational Qualification and Academic Performance – 15 Marks b. Relevant experience – 15 Marks c. Demonstrable Interest (Relevance) – 20 Marks d. Behavioural Profile – 10 Marks.
– STAGE – 2 (40 Marks) a. Written Test – 15 Marks b. Interview – 25 Marks The candidates invited for the written test and interview shall be in a 1:4 ratio after screening the candidates for qualifying in STAGE- 1. Duration of the Contract The appointment shall be for 12 months and any subsequent renewal is contingent on the further requirements of the project as well as an analysis of the performance of the candidate. The contract may be terminated by providing a 15-day notice from either side.Â
